OUR STORY AND ETHOS

Back in 2013 as a student veterinary nurse a stray cat came into my training practice- he was full of worms, fleas and mites alongside irreversible eye damage. I instantly fell in love and decided to take Burty on as my own! The rest- they say- is history- Burty was my best buddy- one of those amazing souls that we can be so lucky to meet in our lifetime, he welcomed in 3 more cats to the crew and numerous rabbits! Burty was always there for a cuddle when you needed and brought a smile to my face daily. I had the joy of having Burty in my life for 10 years until we ultimately had to say goodbye after battling mediastinal lymphoma.

I have always pushed myself to increase my education, and improve the level of care for all of my patients as if they were my own- after losing Burty- I wanted to ensure this continued even if he was no longer with me physically.

So- in October 2023, Burty’s Boutique was formed- my ethos is to encourage and educate other members of the veterinary community- whether through my own knowledge- or our amazing guest speakers , on a wide variety of subjects.

My goal is to offer Relatable, Affordable, Stress- free Veterinary CPD to both Veterinary Nurses, Vets and students. I aim to offer a ‘boutique’ experience in a relaxed format, making it easy for you to return to practice with practical knowledge to help enhance your patient care!
