About the event
Approximately one in four of our veterinary patients will have a diagnosis of cancer in their lifetime. Even if they are not in an oncology-specific role, every RVN will encounter oncology patients in their day-to-day roles.
The RVN is vital in the diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care of these patients, helping to provide a vital quality of life for patients and pet carers alike.
In this webinar, we will discuss some common cancers encountered in general practice, including lymphoma, mast cell tumours, and steosarcoma. RVNs will learn about the pathophysiology of these tumours, how they may present in practice and diagnostic and treatment options. We will discuss how you can use your nursing skills, tailoring support and treatment to the individual patient and tumour type, to give pet carers additional and, most importantly, good quality time with their pets.
